We're Proud to Be a Disability Confident Committed Employer

30 July 2025

At Communitas Clinics, we know that great healthcare relies on great people. That’s why we’re proud to have been recognised as a Level 1 Disability Confident Committed Employer – a certification that reflects our ongoing commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and fairness at work.

To us, this isn’t a badge – it’s a basic expectation. Being inclusive of disabled people in the workplace isn’t just the right thing to do – it’s a smart, practical, and necessary part of building a strong, diverse, and resilient workforce.

The Disability Confident scheme encourages employers to think differently about disability and to take action to improve how they recruit, retain, and support disabled people. By becoming a Disability Confident Committed organisation, we’ve pledged to make our recruitment processes more accessible, offer interviews to disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria, anticipate and provide reasonable adjustments, and support existing employees if they acquire a disability or long-term health condition.

We firmly believe that disability should never be a barrier to opportunity. Talent comes in all forms – and by creating a working environment that is inclusive and adaptable, we make space for more voices, better thinking, and stronger teams.

Our practical, human-centred approach to care doesn’t stop with patients. It’s embedded in our culture. We’re committed to creating a workplace where people feel seen, respected, and empowered to do their best work – because that’s how we deliver the best for the communities we serve.

We’ll continue to review, listen, and improve how we support disabled colleagues. Whether that’s through reasonable adjustments, better communication, or ongoing dialogue with staff networks, this is not a tick-box exercise – it’s part of how we lead with care.

We’re proud to be part of the growing community of Disability Confident employers – and we encourage others in the health sector to join us in making inclusion a norm, not an exception.
