At Communitas we believe that there is more to health than diagnosis and treatment. Our lives seem to be getting busier and busier, and remembering to take care of ourselves when the pressures of family life and work or school are upon us is not always easy. What we eat, how we sleep, how much time we spend with our loved ones – these are all things that can have a detrimental effect on one’s physical and mental health if the balance is not quite right.
We are always looking for ways to help our patients empower themselves to stay healthy and positive. Recently the team has been following the work of Dr Rangan Chatterjee, a GP whose work is changing the way we look at modern medicine. Dr Chatterjee’s book, The Four Pillar Plan – How to Eat Sleep Relax Move Your Way to a Longer Healthier Life gives fantastic advice on how to incorporate self-care into your daily life and feel better for it.
His messages really speak to us at Communitas, as we have long held the belief that healthcare needs to be holistic, and while treating the symptoms is, of course, important, getting to the cause of an illness or ailment is always much more helpful.
